It is the policy of the Company to give the utmost priority to health and safety and we will endeavour to meet the requirements of the legislation and maintain a safe and healthy working environment. We also aim to operate our business in a way which will minimise its impact on the environment.
The company accepts responsibility for ensuring, as far as possible, the health, safety and welfare of employees, sub-contractors and others who may be affected by our activities. This applies equally when employees are working from home, on client premises even driving company vehicles.
The nature of our activities means that a wide range of risks could exist on clients premises, where our staff work, but through the implementation of this policy we will ensure that all risks to health are addressed and maintained at the lowest level reasonably practicable.
Health and safety policies and procedures will be positively promoted within the company and brought to the attention of all our employees. We will continually review and update the policy to identify and correct any problems that may arise, and to meet any changes in legislation.
To this end, the company resolves to:–
- Continuously assess all work activities, systems, equipment and materials for risks.
- Eliminate or reduce risks wherever practical, to provide safe and healthy working conditions, taking into account the company’ statutory obligations.
- Give instruction, training, supervision and information to enable all employees to carry out their duties in safety and to actively contribute to the safety within the organisation.
- To ensure the safe handling and use of substances;
- Cooperate and work with other employers when we work at premises or sites under their control to ensure the continued health and safety of all those at work;
- Make available all necessary personal protective equipment and safety clothing and devices.
- To involve the employees wherever possible and to encourage consultation through supervisors.
- Consult employees in good time on matters relating to their welfare.
The company will ensure training is specifically provided at work when, using any hazardous substances, or any new equipment. Also for use of PPE and for manual handling. Additional training will be provided for any unusual cleaning work, especially supplied on building sites or other new work activities as required.
New staff will receive induction training and a programme of refresher training will be undertaken to keep employees up to date with legislation and industry best practice.
We are committed to making employees aware of their own responsibilities to do everything possible to prevent injury to themselves or others in the course of their work. Where significant risk assessment shows it to be necessary, we will call on the services of our outside experts and consultants to assist us with our health and safety responsibilities.
